How do I start a course?

Users self enrol by following these steps:


1. Register

Complete the registration form.

2. Confirm your account

After submitting the form check your inbox for an email notification containing a confirmation email. Click the link in the email to complete the account set up process. Having trouble with this step? Refer to account issues.

3. Start your course

After logging in you will see your course is now available under 'My Courses' in the right hand navigation. You can also access this course by clicking the 'Heart Failure' item in the main menu at the top of the page.


Why do I need to enable pop ups in my browser?

The course contains 'modules' that are displayed in pop ups. By default, Google Chrome and some other web browser applications block pop-ups from automatically showing up on your screen. This means that some content will not be able to be displayed on your screen.

In Google Chrome when a pop-up is blocked, the address bar will show a pop-up blocker icon chrome pop-up blocked.

Please review your browsers settings and ensure that pop ups are turned on.

Account Issues



I have forgotten my password

You can reset your password by submitting your username or your email address into the reset password fields. If we can find you in the database, an email will be sent to your email address, with instructions how to get access again.

Didn't get this notification and its not in your junk mail folder? It may have been blocked by your mail server spam settings. Please contact us so we can reset it for you - hearthealthinfo@heartfoundation.org.nz


I have registered. But I cannot login to the site.

If you have completed the registration form an automated notification will have been sent to your supplied email address. This email contains a confirmation link. Clicking this link activates your account. You can then log in using the details you supplied during the registration process


I did not receive an email notification containing

1. my account confirmation link
2. or password reset directions


From time to time some notifications may be redirected to your junkmail folder, check here first.

Some mail providers and organisations may catch our emails in their spam filters. To assist with receiving notifications from this website please add the following items to your trusted senders ('whitelist').

Password reset notification: Once you have whitelisted us please try to retrigger a new password reset notification. Still missing? Not in your junkmail? Please contact us and supply us with your email address, and we will create a new password for you.

Account confirmation notification: Once you have whitelisted us please contact us, supply us with your email address and tell us you are missing your confirmation notification and we will confirm your account from our end.


How do I get access to a course if I didn't receive the account confirmation email with the link?

We can manually confirm your account for you. Please contact us here - hearthealthinfo@heartfoundation.org.nz. Supply us with the email address you used to create the account and we will complete the confirmation step for you.


My login details don't work

You can reset your password using the 'forgotten password / username' link on the login page. Before you do this please check the following items and try one more time:

  • * Cookies are enabled in your browser settings
  • * Your caps lock is off

How do I change my account details?

Click your name at the top of the screen to access your profile panel.


How do I turn off email notifications?

Emails are an essential part of the way this course platform works. They are used to keep you up to date with what is going on. If you wish to reduce the amount of emails you get you could:

  • * Edit your profile and change your e-mail settings
  • * Unsubscribe from non-essential forums (although they are there for a reason!)
  • * Disable your e-mail address in your profile- this is not recommended
