Heart Failure

The number of New Zealanders with chronic heart failure is growing as people live longer and as management of coronary heart disease improves.

Effective, structured support from a multi-disciplinary health care team can help individuals with chronic heart failure to stay well, enjoy a better quality of life, stay out of hospital and live longer.


How do I register?

You can self enrol at any time. Complete the online registration form, then check your inbox for an automated email notification containing an account confirmation link. Click the link to activate your account. You can then log in and participate in the course at a time that suits you.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for non-cardiac speciality nurses working in a range of settings including secondary care, primary care, community and aged care.


Course aims and objectives

The course has been developed to improve your knowledge and skills so that you can be more effective in supporting people to manage chronic heart failure.

During this course you learn about:

* How the normal heart functions
* About heart failure
* Management of heart failure * Supporting people to stay well with heart failure


How long will it take me to complete the course?

This is a self directed course that you can complete at your own pace. There is no set time limit to complete all stages.

All course information is supplied at each stage to assist you with your learning journey.
